Service Description

9 classes | 2 hours 15 min | Thursdays 6:30-8:45pm The emphasis of PREP classes is expanding and building on the foundations of Aerials and AcroDance. Students must have a minimum of one full season of REC level aerials+acro to take these classes, and have a desire to work hard, and develop their skills and artistry. At least one full season of PREP is required before being able to audition for the Performance Team and the Competitive Team. This is a preparatory class including mixed aerial apparatuses, AcroDance and Circus Arts. Proper technique and progressions are taught to safely learn how to climb, spin, hang, wrap and perform skills on fabrics like aerial hammock and silks, and hard apparatuses like hoop (Lyra) and dance trapeze. AcroDance is a combination of foundational techniques in strength, flexibility, tumbling, balancing and dance movement. Circus Arts develops character work, improvisation skills, and performance while discovering circus apparatuses such as hula hoops, rollerskating, poi, tightrope, juggling and more. Disciplined training is the focus as students develop the grace, strength and endurance to grow as an athlete, but also in their stage performance and artistry.
